Eccleston retiring from Airbus

Barry Eccleston is retiring as President of Airbus Americas on his birthday, February 28, 2018. According to this outgoing president he felt these were “twelve great years but it was time to move on”. He will spend a lot of his time relaxing with one of his favorite activities, flying his Cessna 172 along the Eastern Shore of Maryland. So, it is wheels up for Eccleston as he flies happily into the skies.

Barry retires on a high note after Airbus closed a $49.5 billion deal with Indigo Partners which includes the purchase by the four airlines of 430 additional A320neo family aircraft. The aircraft will be allocated among the ultra low-cost airlines owned by Bill Franke; Frontier Airlines (United States), JetSMART (Chile), Volaris (Mexico) and Wizz Air (Hungary).

This is in addition to the (36) AQ380 jumbo planes for Emirates which with Dubai will ensure production of the A380 aircraft for the next ten-year.

CNS News Michael White takes over from Lionel Van Der as President of CNS /IATA based in Miami. White was previously VP.

Steve Forte was appointed as Jet Blue’s new vice president., Jet Blue University. Forte joins Jet Blue this week to oversee the Jet Blue University company’s award-winning training programs and facilities. He will be based in Orlando, Fla. and report to Rachel McCarthy, Jet Blue’s Senior Vice President, Talent Learning.

Louis Carducci Jr, promoted to Assistant Director NY Field Operations at the New York Field office.

Diane Papaianni is retiring as General Manager of Newark (EWR) Airport almost at the two year hire anniversary date.

David Kagan retires from Port Authority as Assistant Director Aviation, Business and Community Development.
